Common Questions

Will proposals sound generic?

No. BidReady uses project-specific inputs and keeps every section editable, so final copy stays accurate to your voice.

How accurate are the AI-generated proposals?

BidReady generates strong first drafts — not finished proposals. Here's what that means in practice:

What the AI does well:

  • Structures proposals with clear sections (executive summary, scope, timeline, pricing, terms)
  • Uses trade-specific language and terminology appropriate to your industry
  • Creates professional, client-ready formatting from rough project details
  • Includes relevant terms for your trade — permits, warranties, insurance, exclusions

What you should always verify:

  • Pricing — Numbers are structured from your inputs, but you know your costs and margins better than any AI
  • Scope details — Confirm every line item matches the actual job
  • Local requirements — Permits, licensing, and code compliance vary by location
  • Terms — Generated terms are a starting point. Swap in your own standard contract language if you have it.

Bottom line: BidReady eliminates the blank page and gives you a professional starting point in about 30 seconds. You bring the expertise for the last mile. Think of it as a sharp assistant who knows your trade writing the first draft — you're still the professional who signs off on every detail.

What trades do you support?

BidReady includes 14 trade-specific proposal templates — each built with industry vocabulary, scope structures, and pricing formats for that trade:

Construction & Trades: Plumbing · Electrical · HVAC · General Contracting · Kitchen & Bath Remodeling · Roofing · Painting

Service Businesses: Landscaping · Cleaning Services

Professional & Digital: Web Development · Marketing & SEO · Consulting · Freelance Design

These aren't generic templates with blanks. A plumber's proposal references rough-ins and fixture trim-outs. A roofer's includes tear-off specs and ventilation components. An HVAC tech's covers SEER ratings and load calculations. The AI speaks your trade's language so the output reads like you wrote it.

You can also select "Custom" for any project type not listed. We add new templates based on user requests — tell us what you need.

Can I use my own templates?

Yes. BidReady gives you two paths:

Start from ours — Choose from three proposal styles: Minimal (concise, bullet-driven), Detailed (thorough, section-by-section), or Creative (benefit-focused, persuasive). Each one adapts to your trade with the right terminology and structure.

Save your own — After you create and refine a proposal you like, save it as a reusable template. Build a library of your best bids and apply your winning format to future jobs in seconds.

Either way, every section is fully editable. BidReady generates the starting point — you decide what ships to the client.

Can I reuse proposal structure across similar jobs?

Yes. You can keep a consistent format while updating each proposal's scope, pricing, and timeline per client.

Who owns the proposals I create?

You do. 100%.

You provide the project details. The AI generates a draft. You edit it. The final proposal — text, pricing, scope, terms, everything — belongs to you. Use it however you want with your clients.

We don't claim any ownership over your content. We don't reuse, publish, or share your proposals with anyone. For the legal details, see Section 4 of our Terms of Service.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Here's the specifics:

  • Encryption in transit — All data transmitted over HTTPS/TLS
  • No passwords to steal — We use passwordless magic link login, so there's no password database to breach
  • Private by default — Your proposals are only visible to you unless you explicitly share them via a unique link
  • No data selling — We never sell, rent, or trade your information to third parties. Period.
  • AI data handling — Your inputs are processed solely to generate your proposals. Your content is not used to train AI models.
  • Payment security — Billing is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card details.

For full details, see our Privacy Policy.

Do clients have to create an account?

No. Share via direct link or PDF. Clients can review and sign without logging into BidReady.

How does billing work after beta?

During alpha, BidReady is free for all invited users. Free-tier limits apply (3 proposals per month, minimal template style), but you won't pay a thing.

When we move to general availability:

  • Free plan stays free — 3 proposals/month with core features. No credit card required. No trial that expires.
  • Pro plan — Unlimited proposals, all template styles, custom branding, e-signatures, and proposal tracking. Pricing will be announced before launch.
  • Need more? — We're exploring team and multi-seat options. Let us know what you need.

The important part: You will never be charged without explicitly opting in. No surprise billing when beta ends. Early adopters get priority pricing — we reward the people who helped us build this. At least 30 days' notice before any pricing changes take effect.
